INTRODUCTION
TO
DRAWING
Introduction to drawing is a module that teaches fundamental technical drawing. Our lecturer for this module is Ms Ann See Peng. Technical drawing, drafting or drawing, is the act and discipline of composing drawings that visually communicate how something functions or is constructed. Technical drawing is essential for communicating ideas in the construction industry and engineering.
Through this module, students will be able to grasp the basic concept of proper drawing conventions, symbols, hatching and more.In addition, students will be capable of converting 3D space and items into 2D orthographic drawings by using the correct technique. Overall, this module comprises three assignments.
ASSIGNMENTS
REFLECTION
In a nutshell, this module is pretty challenging for me as technical drawings have to be drawn with accurate measurements and proper symbols. However, I have learnt a couple of things through making mistakes and practising proper drawing conventions in this module. For instance, I am now able to transform real life items into 2D technical drawings with the proper method and presentation skills. In my opinion, technical drawing requires patience and attention to details as it reflects what will be built or is present in real life.
The first TGCs that I have gained through this module is discipline specific knowledge as I am able to put theories into practical situations such as technical drawings that are required in all of the assignments. The second TGC that I have acquired through this module will be lifelong learning as I get to learn independently and carry out my own research especially during the final assignment where I had to design a chalet.
