Design Basics is a core elective module which provides exposure to students regarding the fundamentals of design which comprises of design principles and design elements. Through exploration of various medias and materials, students will be able to display understanding of ideas and concepts in a comprehensive manner. Design principles and vocabularies of 2D designs and 3D designs are also introduced to students as the rudimentary skill in design.

This module has instilled a solid foundation of creative endurance in me through a series of continuous assignments and exercises. I’ve also discovered the beauty of abstract art forms through its application of colours and design principles. Last but not least, an essential aspect of an aspiring artist is to have a great sense of urgency as time is precious.
